Procrastination
Procrastination is the thief of time
Do you ever find yourself procrastinating?
Of course you do. We all do.
Everyone procrastinates. Wherever and whenever there’s work to be done, people will make every excuse imaginable not to do it. They will put it off until they have absolutely no choice but to bite the bullet and finally get it done.
But have you ever stopped to think about the true cost of procrastination…
During this meeting we will find out why people procrastinate and what are the ways to overcome it.
The story of the Black Death
In the mid-14th century, the world was struck by one of the most devastating pandemics to affect the humankind forever and – as some scholars believe – began the process of transforming the medieval world into the modern one.
Between 1346 and 1353, this disease killed off more than half of the world’s population. As some contemporaries put it, one could dance in the morning and be dead within hours, so quick was it to kill. As you might have already guessed, I want to discuss with you the story of the Black Death, which was black not because of the colour of its symptoms, but for the horror of a dark, black, terrifying time it brought about.

Check out my selfie! – Digital World
An English novelist Edward Morgan Forster wrote in his “The Machine Stops” 1909 novel: “But it was fully fifteen seconds before the round plate that she held in her hands began to glow. A faint blue light shot across it, darkening to purple, and presently she could see the image of her son, who lived on the other side of the Earth, and he could see her.” – Sounds a lot like Skyping we all got used to! Now you can barely surprise someone with the message sent a few seconds ago from the other side of the world or 3D-game with real life graphics on your pocket-size device. If you ever uploaded the pictures of yourself to social networks, browsed news on your tablet or asked Google how to get to the local café, join us on Monday. We have something to discuss!
With Anton Frolov.
Werewolf
A speaking game like Mafia.
History and contemporary events in the historical perspective.

Brain ring
The game, which was quite popular in our country at the end of the last century. The conception is simple. Two teams play against each other, trying to guess the right answer on the particular question. The team, that come up with a correct answer receives a point. You can read full original rules here.
Dima decided to modernize the rules quite a bit to make it more exciting.

Aiming high
We all have got purpose in life. We dream, we make dreams come true.
Each of us is an artist who is drawing a unique pattern on a timeline. Ambitions, success, persistence, desire, the way you think, the way you believe, the way you feel – all things matter.
It’s even more if you aim high!
Do you agree? Then join us on Monday and speak English! Because if you can, you’ve already achieved a lot!
With Anton Frolov.
Art of mindfulness
Our life is a race. Higher, faster, stronger…
We are squeezed by the chain of events, achivements and expectations, regreting about our past and worrying about the future.
What is our present like?
Does it really exist?
Is it worth to be noticed?
Let’s make a short stop and try to examine where we are now 🙂
With Anna Ermyagina.

Once upon a time (a storytelling card game)
Once Upon A Time is a game in which the players create a story together, using cards that show typical elements from fairy tales. One player is the Storyteller and creates a story using the ingredients on her cards. She tries to guide the plot towards her own ending. The other players try to use cards to interrupt her and become the new Storyteller. The winner is the first player to play out all her cards and end with her Happy Ever After card.

Works of art created by animals and robots
Classical art has always been considered as an exclusive sphere of human
activity.
However, the 20th century changed it all.
Animals – earlier only the instrument to produce art – are now trained to
produce objects of art independently, almost without any human
interference.
For sure, animals demonstrate lack of creativity, but robots have gone much
further. They “create” objects which are impossible to distinguish from
created by human artists ones’.
What’s next? What is the future of the art? Will machines supersede us in
this spere? Can you spot any difference between human-art and non-human
art?

Emotional intelligence
Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to recognize your emotions, what they’re telling you and how they affect people around you.
It also involves understanding how the other people feel which allows you to manage relationships more effectively.
The good news is that EI can be learned and developed.
How? Join us this Monday and we will figure it out 🙂

How Colours Affect Us.
The way our eyes sense and our brains interpret colours isn’t a subjective experience, but a hard-wired one. Colours influence how we think, feel, and behave — often without our conscious awareness.
Thanks to recent research, we now understand more richly how our brains are affected by colours. Harnessing this knowledge, you can tap into the power of colours to create just right environments and achieve a breathtaking range of visual goals. Also, it can help us dodge popular myths and misconceptions about colour that can easily lead business and companies to make costly mistakes.
I hope that this meeting opens your eyes to why your favourite products practically jump off the shelf, why certain logos are more memorable than others, why particular scenes in nature evoke peace, joy, or fear. We will expand on information about how colours work on our brains to steer our thoughts and actions. We will draw connections between colours and particular moods such as anger, fear, and love. Additionally, we will learn and practise a lot of ‘colour’ vocabulary.

Alias – word explanation board game
Can you find the right words?
Explain words from the cards to your team.
Explaining a word do not use any part of it!
Get your team to guess as many words as possible and lead it to the finish first.
A fun way of practicing language skills!
Rules in brief:
1. The teams take turns explaining. The players in every team take turns explaining.
2. The number of words guessed correctly = steps forward on the game board.
3. Mistakes and skipped words = steps backwards on the game board
4. The space your team’s pawn is located indicates the type of words you should explain from the cards
5. Standing on the space with black numbers means that on the team’s following turn everyone guesses at the same time.
6. The first team to arrive to the finish space wins the game!
